TIMOTHY MACRI

Always reticent to follow the well trodden path, Tim Macrì has spent his life in pursuit of music while playing the flute instead of playing flute music. This cumbersome approach to a career is responsible for his unique approach to interpretation, tone colour, and choices in repertoire. One doesn’t ignore ten centuries of music simply because your medium is only 170 years old. 

The purpose of illustrating my “pedigree” is for the listener to understand (and perhaps find a way to relate to) the choices I make when expressing a musical thought. ​
